In one of the communities that survive out where the urban sprawl of the capital of Michoacán vanishes, Álvaro will have to fight against everything that torments him in his sorrow. The sleepless nights, which bring with them the glow of the city, its noises and its smells, make him remember the childhood to which he so longs to return where none of that existed.

His mourning, as it almost always happens, will come unexpectedly and will settle in the depths of his being. What to do, who to turn to, what to sacrifice? These are the questions Álvaro asks himself before going to the hospital where his wife, l, his companion for his whole life, is ill. True to his beliefs and customs, before leaving, he weighs and balances the circumstances and resolves them in a way that to more than one might seem unusual. The journey will not be at all easy, but sailing on the raft of his father and the thought of getting to see his beloved wife let him draw strength from where physically it seems that there is none.

En una de las comunidades que sobreviven allá donde la mancha urbana de la capital michoacana se desvanece, Álvaro tendrá que luchar contra todo lo que lo atormenta a causa de su duelo. Las noches en vela, que traen consigo el resplandor de la urbe, sus ruidos y sus olores, hacen que recuerde su infancia a la que tanto anhela regresar y donde nada de eso existía.

 

Su duelo, como casi siempre ocurre, llegará de manera inesperada y se instalará en lo más profundo de su ser. ¿Qué hacer, a quién recurrir, qué sacrificar? Son las preguntas que se hace Álvaro antes de ir al hospital donde se encuentra internada su esposa, su compañera de toda la vida.

Fiel a sus creencias y costumbres, antes de partir, pone en una balanza las circunstancias y las resuelve de unan manera que a más de uno le parecería inusual. El trayecto no será nada fácil, pero navegar en la balsa de su padre y la idea de llegar a ver a su amada esposa, hacen que saque fuerza de donde físicamente parece que no la hay.
